Multnomah Falls and a visit from Josh's family

Wayne (Josh's pa) decided to do the Seattle to Portland bike ride. Good for him! Since he was doing it, he figured it would be a great time to get the whole family together in the northwest. Jessie and Robbie are living outside Seattle (Tacoma) and Dani and Takaiya, Chris and Teo, and of course Debbie all flew up. It was a blast to have everyone together for an extended weekend.

Some of the family went to the Portland Rose Gardens one evening. They were beautiful. It reminded me how many varieties of roses there are.... a lot.

On the Friday morning the family was here some of us hiked to the top of Multnomah Falls. I've been wanting to do this hike since we moved to Oregon 7 months ago. It was gorgeous! This is the tallest waterfall on this side of the Mississippi. Round trip it was 3 or 4 miles for Cohen and I, everyone else who went (Wayne and Debbie, Chris and Teo) did a 6 or 7 mile hike that day.
It was a pretty steep climb and decent, but it was paved. I was VERY thankful to Teo. He pushed Cohen in his little umbrella stroller all the way up! What an act of service! I was also thankful to Wayne who came back down with me to make sure I got there all right. He also took Cohen in the stroller back down the mountain most of the way. Then the awesome guy turned around and went back up the mountain to catch up with everyone.... and started a huge bike ride the next day. Wow! In case you were wondering... Josh was at school studying hard.
See the very top of the waterfall? That's where we hiked to.

At the viewpoint on top.

This is looking down from the very top of the waterfall.

Hold on tight to my little dare-devil!

Wayne did a great job with his bike ride. Two days and hours of riding.... I think it's great.
Cohen has been fascinated with bikes (to say the least) for a couple of months now. More on this topic to come in future posts....

Cohen thinks it's the greatest thing in the world that his grandpa has a bike, it goes fast, it's red, it has wheels that go around and around, and it has peddles that spin. He rehearses this with me over and over.

Thanks for visiting!
