I think this little passion of his started after we had gone a time or two to Josh's school gym. All he wanted to do was "shoot ball" for a long time. This has now evolved into multiple phrases. Some have come from dad and some from me, they are all cute, and I just have to wright them down. He says them on his own while playing or talking about basketball.
"pay basickball"
"almost!"
"close one!"
"off (the) rim"
"yay!" in a really high pitched voice
"shoot basickball hoop"
"boom (shaka) laka"
"shoot ball in hoop"
"throw it high"
So here's what our original set up was..... a wire hanger around the refrigerator door. I was happy with myself that I came up with this. He couldn't get enough, and just kept going and going (and kind of getting in the way while I'm trying to do things in the kitchen) so we upgraded. Don't you love the jump shot, and the focus in his eyes?
We bought this hoop from Walmart for about $5. It is supposed to hang from the top of a door... a little too high for Cohen. I used some packing tape and stuck it right to the wall. He LOVES it.
Of course, in the video he's quiet, because that's the way life works. As soon as I want to capture Cohen's cuteness, he doesn't do it anymore. It's still a cute video. :)
