Preschool boy... for real this time.

Joy school last year didn't last long, only a couple of months.
This year I was bound and determined to get Cohen into preschool.
He goes to Head Start Tuesday through Friday from noon to 3:30.

The week before it all started we went and met his teacher, Melissa.
I think we really lucked out.  I really like the way she interacts with the kids.

He's Cohen on his first day, before he left for school.
He wanted to give me his pirate pose first.
Literally.
I said ok, so we could take a normal picture next.

Here we go.

Cohen takes the bus to and from school each day!
My little barely-4-year-old Cohen.
He was excited and had no problem whatsoever.
He was happy and looking forward to school, and thinks riding the bus is great.
There was no separation anxiety from his end at all.
I'm so glad!

On the other hand, Parker had a very hard time letting Cohen go to school.
He cried his eyes out the first time Cohen got on the bus, for about 30 minutes after he was gone.
Parker and Cohen are such buddies, and Parker doesn't know what to do without his big brother around.
He cried like this (getting a little better each time) for a week.
I also cried the first day.
I was afraid I would, and I did, mostly because with all the commotion of the bus pick-up, and take a picture, and give him his medication just before..... we didn't get a hug good-bye.
Now I make sure that happens every day, and I'm golden too.
I'm so proud of Cohen and how well he's doing with preschool.
Love him.
