I thew a baby shower for my friend Tami. I have so much respect for her. She seems like the kind of person who is always on top of things. She's crafty, organized, and so nice, and much more.
When I decided to through her a shower I knew I needed to TRY to make it up to her level.
I rediscovered I like to do crafty stuff. It's really fun!
I also rediscovered that everything takes longer than I think. Perhaps I'll master timing one day.

Thanks to a similar idea from my cousin Allie Barker(her blog) I made these heart garlands for the shower.
Sewing them was a breeze.
Using my heart shaped cookie cutter to trace each one, and then cut them all out took a long time. Still fun.
When it came right down to it, this is what I ended up with. There were lots of things I invisioned that never came to fruition. One day, I'll be better at projecting how long everything takes to do!
Here's what I worked on....
The "LOVE BABY GIRLS" banner I made from cookie cutters, scrap book papper, computer print out letters, etc. The glass peice holding the candy and the table cloth came from the Good Will! Yes!
We had strawberry lemonade, red velvet cupcakes, ham and cheese roll ups (Thank you Brandy! She did those.), strawberries and red apple slices with fruit dip (Thank you Monica! She did this!), heart shaped sugar cookies, and just some kisses and sugar and spice candies.
I frosted (iced) these cookies the morning of. It was fun, and they turned out pretty well. I was so disapointed when they didn't look perfect anymore after transporting them to Monica's house.
I also filled that baby bottle with conversation hearts. The ladies got to guess how many were in the bottle and write it down on a paper in the heart notepad.
I was very excited to make these red velvet cupcakes for some reason.
Cupcakes are so trendy right now, and I've never really made them for anyone before, so I guess I should have practiced or something.
I wish the cream cheese frosting would have been cooler when I put it on the cakes. Live and learn!
I did get all the hearts on sticks at the dollar store though.... red and pink for $2. Yay!
Here's Tami. Looking fine.
I think we all had fun at the shower. We had a couple of games which, of course, I don't have pictures of.
We played a game where we thought of all those old wives tales about baby girls and compared, and another game of baby catch phrase. Baby Ruth candy bars were the prize. Thanks for the idea Crystal! Getting people to guess baby related words was a lot of fun!
This is the wagon I got at the Good Will for a couple bucks to put the party favors in. What a great find!
Parker loves to be pulled around in it. I have to get a picture before he grows out of it!
Throwing a shower is fun to do. I love to craft and plan and bake and everything. Wish I had a little more time and resources to devote to things like this, but I love my little munchkins, and the time I spend with them is well worth the sacrifice. Thanks Josh! He took the kids practically all day in the morning so I could get stuff done, and during the shower of course. I couldn't do stuff like this without the support of my loving husband. I love him the most. :)
