I just love snow cones.
As silly as it sounds, I look forward to summer because of the snow cone stands.
In past years I have even scoped out which snow cone stands make a good snow cone by packing the ice just right, adding the right amount of syrup (a lot), and presenting a good flavor.
Now, I live in Oregon. Last summer was a bit of a whirl wind with being new to the area, pregnant and traveling so much. I didn't seem to notice any snow cone places, but I thought I probably just wasn't looking in the right place.
This summer, I made a big effort to find all the snow cone stands. Alas, there are NONE.
How could this be?
Thanks to google, I was able to hunt down a Hawaiian restaurant not too far from us that serves snow cones. What do you think I did? I made it our one weekly family outing, and had to take pictures to document it.
Here we have it, ladies and gent's. $3.50 snow cone.... Oregon style.
Yes, I'm very disappointed. One small snow cone, in a trendy plastic dish for $3.50. I think the regular size was about a buck more.
These are the days when I REALLY MISS UTAH!!!
