The Beach House Trip!

We were fortunate enough to have our Christmas presents in June.... a trip to a nice beach house in Lincoln City, Oregon!  Sorry, but there were a ton of pictures from this trip that I just can't leave out.  This is a bit long.  Anyway...

Our entire family had a blast!  We were with all of Josh's immediate family and their kids in a beautiful beach house for a week.  There were some cold and windy days, and it rained once or twice, but mostly the weather was pleasant, the company was warming, and the times were grand!

The beach was only out the back door, past a house, and down a long set of stairs.  Bam, there we were at the ocean.  Amazing, really.
So, what is everyone looking at?  We made it a point to go watch the sun set several nights we were there.  It was simply gorgeous.

The Kite Festival

Another wonderful day at the beach.

I hope you can tell, Parker loved the sand!
Hanging out with the family back at the house.

Most days there was hardly anyone on the beach.  It was beautiful.

Our place even had a hot tub.  This was really nice when we were freezing, or just needed to relax.

Building sandcastles as a family was lots of fun.  Another day, another sandcastle.
The men had great pride in their work!

Cohen LOVED the beach.  He ran and ran and ran.  Digging, sticks, rocks.... it can't get much better for a two year old boy.  Cousin Dakota brought a Frisbee ring thing that Cohen loved too.  He would play with it by himself for a very long time.  Just trow, run, retrieve, shake off sand, and repeat over an over and over.

Cohen mostly liked the ocean.  Josh definitely helped Cohen with his fears.  Josh on the other hand really enjoyed playing in the freezing water with Dakota and Cohen and Takaiya.  There were a couple times when he got in all the way!  I only dared get wet to my knees!

Josh REALLY wanted to buried in the sand for some reason.  He got his wish!

We did a lot of chillin' on the beach.  It's amazing how peaceful the place is.

We took a little drive up to the Tillamook cheese factory.  We got some free samples and bought cheese and ice cream to keep our mouths happy back at the beach house.  It's good stuff!  I'm so glad we can just buy all their products at the grocery stores here in Oregon.  I seriously regularly buy their cheese, yogurt, butter, sour cream, and the very occasional ice cream.  By they way, their ice cream is way better than cold stone or anything else!
A little light house trip on a rainy day.

Yet another, very beautiful day at the beach!

Parker is reaching for the homemade chocolate chip cookies here.... funny.  Don't worry, he didn't have any.

I imagine this is what they were saying....
"Well, do you think it was a good trip, Parker? "
"Yes Grandpa, couldn't get much better than this!"
THANKS GRANDMA AND GRANDPA!!
