Some happenings from January

I'm excited to think that I might actually catch up with blogging! Wow. I know, it's mid March, and I'm only now doing January.... but there's still time.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you left an empty pot on a hot stove? Well, now you know. I didn't have the camera out immediately when it happened, but those would have been some great pictures. Essentially what happened is the base of the pot came detached from the sides and the base stuck to the burner, and everything was literally red hot. Josh saved the day by turning off the burner, letting the pot cool enough to re-stick to it's self, and then trying not to make too much of a mess with the molten metal on our stove. What a fun experience. You may wonder how this started. Well, I don't want to mention names, but it's the only other adult living here besides me. :) I got a new pot out of it. Yay!

Here's another fun surprise from January. How often do you get a huge cooler delivered from UPS with no previous knowledge of what's going on? It had never happened to me before, so I though I should snap a picture. Josh's wonderful parents surprised us with a HUGE amount of meat and some sides from "Omaha Steaks." What a fun treat! It was also fun to find room for it in the freezer. We did have room, and it forced me to clean out the freezer and toss some of the really old stuff. Good times!

Well, I can't get enough of my cute boys. Here are some of my favorite pictures from January.

Do you love the messy hair?

This is an almost-about-to-yawn face.

Nana bought the boys "Go Utes" (as Cohen calls anything University of Utah oriented) pajamas for Christmas. Cohen loves them, and thinks of football whenever we get them out. Here we have a "tiny go Utes football" for Parker, because he's "tiny" and a "regular brown football" for big boy Cohen.

Cohen seriously does love Parker. It really warms my heart.

Parker started smiling a couple days before Christmas, but I am STILL trying to get a really good picture of it! So, here are some attempts. You should see my digital camera. There are LOTS of failed attempts with Parker making a weird in-between face. If only you could teach a baby to smile on cue and hold it until the camera is ready.

Just a cute yawn.

A fine example of tummy-time for Parker. At this point in January he bared it for a minute or two an then fussed, and then all out fought it with everything in him. It makes him stronger I guess. I just can't let him stay there for very long at a time.
Angry eyes?

On his back. Ahhhh. Much happier.
