We did two weeks of swimming lessons in August, and it was sure thrilling,
but not for the usual reasons.
Swimming lessons ran for 2 weeks of Monday through Friday.
Cohen was in the same class level as last year, and we worked it out for him to be with his two little girl friends in the same class again.
This means the two other moms I know, Monica and Brandy, were there with their kids too.
I was sure thankful!
Cohen did great and loves the water. He's still working on letting his air out nice and slow while he's under, but he's doing great.
Thanks to grandpa we were also able to sign up Parker for swim lessons!
Yay!
Since Parker is only one, he goes in with a Parent, which was me almost every day.
Josh filled in one day for fun, when his class was cancelled.
That was a nice surprise.
Ok, I'll put it bluntly, swimming lessons were REALLY hard this year!
Just getting the boys and I ready to get into the pool together after scarfing down "free lunch in the park" was a challenge. Then, Parker was terrified of everyone around him and cried and/or clinged to me during the entire lesson. Then, we had to all get out of the pool dry off, get changed, try not to cry our eyes out due to lack of food, nap time, those silly rules not to fall into the pool, etc, all while trying to keep track of each other, the stroller, our bags, lunch, purse, etc.
Oh, man.
This is why I was so thankful that Josh came along one day!
Also, I'm so thankful for Monica and Brandy for helping out with my kids here and there in the middle of the mayhem.
Whew, swimming is good, we got tans, the boys had fun, used up our energy, and we made it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the middle of all this, we dealt with some sickness.
Poor Parker got impetigo.
Can you see the residual red marks on his face?
He had some form of it for a month and a half.
So, he went through two rounds of antibiotics, and an ointment to get rid of it, and had to miss a few days of swimming.
So now if you think I'm terrible, cranky, and pessimistic, just check out the last post.
My life is really happy, and I'm happy in it.
Sometimes I just get thrown a little issue or two and have to muddle through it.
Besides, aren't my boys cute?
Try to make the best of every day!
